💬 How to Export Your Facebook Messenger Chat

Messenger messages are exported using Meta's "Download Your Information" portal — the same tool used for Instagram. Here's how to get just your Messenger data:

Log in to Facebook.com → click your profile picture → Settings & privacy → Settings. Or go directly to facebook.com/dyi.

Click "Your Facebook information" → "Download your information" → then "Some of your information".

Check "Messages" from the list, then click Next → "Download to device".

Set the Format to JSON, choose your date range, and click "Create files". Download the archive once it's ready.

Extract the ZIP, navigate to messages/inbox/<conversation_name>/, and upload message_1.json to ChatPeek.
